Member Services

Member Services is the legal branch of SEIU Virginia 512, assisting members with workplace concerns. SEIU Virginia 512 Member Services focuses on finding solutions-oriented representation to all members. This approach extends beyond legal representation/litigation by working toward improving members’ overall work life.  SEIU Virginia 512 members have exclusive access to counsel and legal advice on several employment-related matters including:

  • On the job injuries (workers’ compensation)
  • Overtime/fair pay issues
  • Discrimination
  • Appeal of discipline
  • Grievance procedure

The Member Services staff includes Dave Lyons and Theodora Stringham.  Dave Lyons serves as director, bringing more than 30 years of experience representing union members across Virginia.  Theodora Stringham is Member Services Advocate and is able to assist with all workplace issues.

Our Member Advocates are an essential part of the SEIU Virginia 512 team. These trained members span across the state, assisting Member Services staff by providing on site assistance to those in the workplace.
