Victory! On April 3, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors passed a county budget, which invests in quality public services for our community and quality jobs for our workforce.
Thanks to the advocacy of union members and our community partners, the budget includes funding for vital mental health programs, parks, libraries, and more.
The budget also addresses the county’s workforce crisis. A recent study found that Loudoun County employees earn up to 14% less than our peers in neighboring jurisdiction.
Union members have been leading the campaign for Paycheck Fairness to ensure that Loudoun County employees earn what their peers earn, while ensuring that local families receive the quality public services they expect.
We applaud the budget’s 3% across-the-board raise and 3.5% merit raise as an important first step. We look forward to continuing to work with Chair Phyllis Randall and the Board of Supervisors to win true equity for Loudoun County employees.
