On May 1, the Fairfax Board of Supervisors passed a county budget, which invests in quality public services for our community and quality jobs for our workforce.
Thanks to the advocacy of union members and our community partners, the budget includes funding for vital health care and mental health programs, parks and libraries, schools, first responders and more. The budget also fulfils the county’s promise to its dedicated staff by fully-funding the union pay plan.
Fully-funding the union pay plan means that front-line county employees will be able to keep up with the high cost of living in our region and provide for their families, while cutting down on the county’s turnover rate.
We thank the Board of Supervisors for working with us on this budget. We look forward to working with Chairman Bulova, the Board, and County Executive Bryan Hill to ensure that next year’s budget also invests in our community.
